Starting my blog adventure

Happy New Years Eve!

I wanted to get my first blog post up before the new year hit. I didn't want it to look like a New Year resolution page that I wouldn't keep up with. I have been pondering a blog for a couple months. My husband, Justin, has been trying to convince me. When my cousin, Abbie, told me to jump on the bandwagon, I was convinced. I really just cant imagine my life is that exciting that people will want to read about it. However, when I look at all the fun things and educational activities I do with my girls, I realize it might be interesting to someone else. So, here I go on my blog adventure.
I am a happily married mother of 3 young girls. My husband, Justin, and I have been together since we were 16. We have been married for 6 years. We have grown up together, I think that's why we have a smooth marriage. We don't have any baggage to bring to the table. He is an amazing human being. He would do anything for anyone. Our girls are 5,4, and 1. Madelyn Joan, Ella Kathryn, and Mackenzie Kyle are their names. Although, we have a whole bag of nicknames they usually get called.
Madelyn (aka mads, maddie j, Joan, jj, and Maddie)  started kindergarten this year. That was rough on me. Staying at home and raising my girls is my job. So I felt less needed and I felt like I was losing her. I know that sounds silly, but I couldn't help it! Now that we are half way through the school year, I have realized she needs me now more than ever.
Ella (aka Kathy, Kathryn, Kath, El, and Ella A) started her first year of preschool. Her first day was a breeze! Unfortunately, Ella's birthday is in August. Which means she missed the preschool cut off last year by only 2 weeks. She was so ready to go to preschool. I was also ready for her to go. I was ready for her to have to listen and follow directions from another adult. I was ready for her to socialize with other kids besides her sisters and cousins. Ella LOVES school, as I knew she would. We both wish it was more than only 2 days a week!
Mackenzie (aka Kenzie, Kenz, Kenz Kyle, KK, and Kyle) is about 20 months old. She is proving herself to be a wild child. She is sharp, funny, and stubborn. She wants to be a big kid so bad. She wants to do everything her sisters do. She gets away with more than that first 2 ever did. But, I think that is pretty typical for the 3rd child. I have learned to pick my battles and some things just aren't worth battling over.
Today, Justin and I will be attending a New Years Eve party at his sister's house. The girls are off to my moms for a sleepover with their cousins, Claire and London. They will have a blast. They did help me make brownie batter dip for the party tonight. I am pretty sure they just "help" so they can have a taste after. They did taste as did I and it was as good as ever. I will post the recipe a different day. I didn't take any good pictures of it! I realized after the fact. I get a learning curve for the first couple blog posts. Have a safe and happy New Year. Don't drink and drive, friends!!

much love,
Danielle
